Waste Connections has an immediate position available for an **ADT** **Equipment Operator** for our **Ottawa Landfill** District in **Navan** , ON. **Location** : 3354 Navan Road Navan, ON **Pay** : $24.60 per hour, Full time with benefits, 44 hours per week **Summary:** Operates various equipment including articulated trucks and backhoe. May also include forklifts, loaders and front skid steer loaders. **Duties And Responsibilities:** + Operates equipment for leveling and operates tractors to load materials such as dirt and rocks. + Operates backhoe and articulated trucks as required. + Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping, snow removal, and related assignments. + Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices, including routine inspection and maintenance of equipment + May be required to watch the public drop off pad, litter pick, shovel, mow lawns. + Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. **Minimum Job Requirements:** + High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. + Heavy Equipment Operator experience. **Working Conditions And Physical Effort:** + Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as; extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. + Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. + Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels. + Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. **_Waste Connections of Canada/Enviro Connexions is an equal opportunity employer_** **.**
