We are looking for a compassionate and culturally informed full time Adult Counsellor to provide individual and group counseling services. In this role, you will work with adults to support mental health, healing, and personal growth through culturally safe practices and proven counselling techniques. QUALIFICATIONS\n\nDegree in Social Work or a related field. Master's degree considered an asset\nExperience with counseling clients, ideally with a focus on adults, trauma and\/or addiction\nCertification in or willing to obtain: First Aid, Suicide Intervention, and Conflict Resolution\nAbility to undergo a successful criminal record search\nHave knowledge of trauma-informed care and practices\nUtilize a strength-based approach to work with clients\nAbility to motivate others towards achieving their personal goals\nAbility to work independently with strong sense of focus, task-oriented, nonjudgmental, open-minded qualities, and a clear sense of boundaries\nAbility to work in a variety of settings with culturally diverse families and communities with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate, mentoring participants within the context of their identity, family, community, tribe, history, culture, and traditions\nStrong crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on empathy and respect\nFamiliarity with local community resources, social services and health care systems\nStarting wage $32\/hr. to $35\/hr. based on qualifications and experience.\n\n
