General Position Summary:Maintain accurate student records. Attend to incoming students, in-person or via phone. Administer orientation. Demonstrate efficiency with data collection and reporting. Help students improve their basic math, reading comprehension, language, and computer skills so they can achieve a high school equivalency and/or industry-based credentials (IBC) to secure entry-level employment or advance in their current occupation. Develop, deliver, revise, and teach academic instruction up to the college level, focusing on College and Career Readiness. Demonstrate student focus, with a passion for serving adults in attaining basic skills, digital skills, English proficiency, high school equivalency credentials, and encouraging the continuing pursuit of education and/or training.

The pay for the position is $25.00 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution
• Two years of teaching experience
• Satisfactory background check
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution with a concentration in Education
• Two years of teaching experience with adult learners over the age of 18
Job Concepts
Essential Functions:
• Oversee all aspects of Orientation, i.e., oral presentation, TABE administration, etc.
• Organizing student records for accuracy and completeness
• Submit weekly attendance and score reports to the Assistant Director
• Monitor minor student attendance to ensure minimum attendance is completed
• Assist current and potential students upon visiting or calling the campus
• Serve on Adult Education and RPCC committees as requested by the Director or RPCC Leadership
• Maintain accurate student records and data, i.e., forms, attendance, etc.
• Attends staff development programs, curriculum development meetings, and other professional activities
• Utilize and provide direct instruction through innovative, effective, and equitable teaching techniques
• Participates in developing, revising, and monitoring the implementation of the curriculum
• Provide classroom instruction, feedback, and direct student learning using available technology
• Guide students through assessments and create an individualized career plan
• Completes reports, collects data, and provides information for program monitoring as requested
• Meet all deadlines
• Keeps abreast of developments, research, and new technology.
• Participate in campus activities and recruitment
• Demonstrate a solid commitment to the River Parishes Community College Mission
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Adult Education
