Collecting and reporting student data in support of the data and assessment policies, procedures and requirements of the English for Refugees and Asylees Program (ERA)

This position is an on-call continuous hire. Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required Five years of job-related experience required Criteria CRITERIA: The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Attend ongoing standardized assessment and/or student data collection/entry trainings as approved the ERA Program. Administer and proctor those standardized assessment instruments, paper and/or online, to new and prospective students including oral, listening, reading, writing and/or math assessments. Maintain ongoing knowledge and familiarity of those approved standardized student assessment and data instruments. Proficient in Excel including data entry, spreadsheet modification, familiarity and understanding of formulas. Ensure accuracy of data collection Maintain familiarity with program policies and procedures to ensure uniform enforcement at all instructional sites. Verify and ensure the accuracy and completion of the entry of student data into spreadsheets and/or database Monitor paper data during intake/entry and flag problems. Communicate and collaborate with the ERA program office. Maintain thorough knowledge of the Program’s rules, procedures, processes and other related programs in order to accurately respond to students’ questions Screen students for eligibility according to ERA requirements Assist students in the completion of the Program’s enrollment form. Deliver Program’s orientation to prospective students. Advise students on all appropriate class and educational options available based on the outcome of their assessment(s) in order to meet their needs, goals, and preferences. Provide referrals to students to appropriate related programs and partnerships. Provide a consistent, warm and welcoming approach to the reception of all students. Possess cultural sensitivity to meet the diverse needs of adult learners in the multicultural community. Act as a resource for the ERA community through the collection and collating of resources available from partner organizations. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Ability to communicate and work effectively with students and potential students from diverse cultures and backgrounds Ability to walk and stand extended periods of time, while supporting assessment staff during peak testing periods. Ability to develop and maintain cordial, cooperative working relationships Good oral and written communications skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general aptitude for computer software and technology Strong customer service skills Job Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.OTHER REQUIREMENTS Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
