Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist

Baylor Scott & White is the largest non-profit, private healthcare system in Texas. As we expand our department, we are seeking a BC or BE Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist to lead our consultancy liaison and inpatient psychiatric rotations to join the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences in Temple, Texas, located conveniently between Waco and Austin.

Baylor Scott & White Health’s Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences offers: 

\n\nFull range of psychiatric services, including outpatient clinic, embedded psychiatry services in primary care, telemedicine, consultation-liaison, emergency room, inpatient, ECT, and TMS. \nAppointment as Faculty with Baylor College of Medicine to teach medical students and residents. BSWH Temple, named top 3 major teaching hospitals in the nation has its own campus of the Baylor College of Medicine.  \nThe department will provide all of the support you need to obtain an academic appointment to the Baylor College of Medicine.  Such an appointment is required by the department and is required to teach medical students. \nA vertically integrated multi-disciplinary healthcare team in which we refer patients to every specialty.\nInpatient, emergency, and consultation services at Baylor Scott & White Memorial Medical Center, our 636-bed academic, level one trauma center, and multi-specialty clinic.\nOutpatient clinics in integrated mental health settings working closely a multidisciplinary team and seeing patients on referral from specialty physicians. \nTelepsychiatry services to other BSWH facilities.\nCall rotation at Canyon Creek Behavioral Health, a large inpatient psychiatric hospital, shared by a sub-group of the faculty psychiatrists.  \nAn electronic medical record and documentation with excellent transcription software.\nTraining is available in TMS, ECT and Esketamine. \nA nurturing, growth-minded, and collegial culture.\n\n

Minimum Qualifications:

\n\nMD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine). \nLicensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board. \nEmployee shall be currently board certified in psychiatry or demonstrate active pursuit of board certification.  Note: BE candidates must obtain BC within two years of hire.\nOnsite duties required at:\n\nTemple Memorial Hospital – Consult Liaison Service\nCanyon Creek Behavioral Health (CCBH) – Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital – Temple, TX. \n\n\n\n
