Job Title: Adult Residential Specialist

Job Overview:
The Adult Residential Specialist position is responsible for providing direct and supportive care to clients/patients. In this role, you will oversee daily activities, monitor health (including vital signs), intervene/respond to crises, and communicate with the established treatment team. You will also facilitate group education and structured activities and transport clients/patients as needed while maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
For Residential Facility and Withdrawal Management:
Admit, supervise, monitor, transfer, and discharge clients/patients.Ensure monitoring of vital signs and withdrawal symptoms; determine the need for escalation to medical intervention.Obtain and record vital signs and relevant medical symptoms per policy.Oversee medication administration according to policy and trained permissions.Maintain accurate records of client medications and document self-administration.Monitor client self-administration of OTC medications and maintain their inventory.Document blood glucose levels and maintain agency-approved equipment.Report medication errors and discrepancies as per agency policy.Screen and monitor clients/patients for withdrawal symptoms to ensure safety.Facilitate supervision checks per established policies.For All Locations:
Encourage adherence to program expectations and communicate behavior concerns to the treatment team.Participate actively in treatment team discussions identifying client strengths and needs.Document exceptional behaviors or areas of concern in client records.Assist in the admission and orientation process regarding client rights and rules.Operate the telephone system and respond to crisis calls as necessary.Foster adaptive behavior in clients by encouraging positive interactions and role-modeling.Education and Experience:
High School education or equivalent with two (2) years of responsible employmentExperience in Human Services or a related field preferredExceptions to the qualifications may be made by the appropriate Executive Team member.St. Louis County Programs: Bachelor’s Degree, OR MAADC I or IISupervisory Requirements: None
Employment Requirements:
Successful completion of background checks including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks.Completion of New Hire Orientation and all training requirements, including Relias, annually.First Aid and CPR certifications within three (3) months of employment and upon renewal.Behavioral Management training within thirty (30) days of employment.Valid driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record.Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and negligible amounts frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull objects, including the human body.Jobs may involve walking or standing for brief periods.Brightli is on a Mission:
