Job Description

Under supervision, the Endoscopy Technician – Advanced Practice is the primary assistant to the physician performing the procedure. They possess the knowledge and skills to assist the physician with advanced endoscopic procedures for patients with complex digestive health issues with minimal direction. The Endoscopy Technician – Advanced Practice participates in patient care in the Endoscopy procedure room by performing of technical and other delegated duties. Trains his or her peers. Maintains, cares for, and disinfects all scopes and equipment. Adheres to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, State, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Experience in assisting GI physicians with complex ERCP (SPYGlass, sphincter of Oddi manometry, pancreatic endotheraphy) and EUS-guided biliary and pancreatic ductal interventions.Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, verbal and writtenKnowledge about  professional and practice issues related to the field of Gastrointestinal EndoscopyCurrent BLS certification, must be completed prior to the end of the orientation periodCompletion of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Advanced Associates Program (certificate required prior to the end of orientation period)Must meet one of the following requirements upon hire:Must hold and maintain a certification from an accredited Surgical Technologist program;Has successfully completed training in an appropriate Surgical Technology program in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard.Obtain certification prior to end of orientation period
