Position Summary:
Bio-Techne, is seeking an Advanced Equipment Technician. This is a key role where the individual will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repair work on new and existing equipment. In doing so, you will manage and document your work orders, respond to supervisory alarms during business hours, and complete routine inspections on equipment. This position is for Minneapolis location and will report in the Facilities organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform basic troubleshooting of existing plant equipment including but not limited to automated fill lines, packaging equipment, refrigeration equipment, incubators, lyophlizers etc.
Perform Installation of new equipment and relocating existing equipment
Perform and document scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment
Perform repairs to malfunctioning equipment per work orders
Perform routine inspection of equipment and develop spare parts list.
Perform tasks relating to equipment maintenance including changing sensors, drives, cables
Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations
Be available for On-call work over the weekend on bi-monthly basis as determined by the sup.
Support verification or validation through IQ/OQ/PQ protocols
Perform additional duties as assigned
Assist in Quality compliance; NC, CAPA. Support audit.
Education and Experience:
Technical or Associate degree in Mechatronics / Automation / Manufacturing Engineering or any other relevant technical degree with up to 2-3 years of relevant experience
Prior experience with biotechnology equipment is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic equipment troubleshooting and strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to stand 6-8+ hours during a shift
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Ability to use basic hand and power tools
Ability to work extended hours (evenings/weekends) as needed
Ability to travel to and work at off-site Bio-Techne locations as needed
Ability to effectively problem solve
Ability to work effectively with computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Routinely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
Receptive to receiving training to upgrade skills progressively
Must work well both independently and in a team environment
Enthusiastic, energetic, and highly driven, with the desire to learn our business.
