Advanced Field Service Engineer, Building Automation

As an Advanced Field Service Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in providing technical expertise and support to our customers. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining our advanced systems.  Your knowledge and skills will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of our products in the field.

You will report directly to our Field Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our designated customer sites across various locations within Newfoundland.

\n

This role requires frequent travel and the ability to work in diverse environments. In this role, you will have a direct impact on our customers' satisfaction and the success of our business. Your ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues will contribute to the overall reliability and performance of our products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

\n\nProvide on-site technical support to customers, including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of advanced systems.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex technical issues.\nConduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance activities to ensure the optimal performance of our products.\nDocument and report all service activities, including findings, recommendations, and solutions.\nTrain customers on the proper use and maintenance of our products.\n\n

 

YOU MUST HAVE

\n\nCollege Diploma or degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Computer science, Information technology, or engineering.\nMinimum 5 Years’ experience in the design, implementation and maintenance of building automation technologies, Enterprise Applications and Connected Services\n5+ years with Enterprise Applications and Connected Service (HVAC, DVM, Security, OBS, Fire etc.)\n5+ years experience using industry standard communications protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC, SNMP, API)\nValid Class 5 Driver’s License\n\n

\n\nExcellent effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, along with proven ability to interact professionally with clients.\nBilingualism in French is an asset\nSelf-motivated, ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure, determine own work priorities, work independently and as part of a team.\nExcellent technical writing skills.\n\n\nKnowledge of ICT/Cybersecurity fundamentals\nFundamental knowledge of 3rd party IoT technologies and software applications\n\n\nDemonstrated experience in organizing and directing work activities according to priorities, and meeting deadlines involving multiple systems projects and vendors.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative and creative solutions in a complex multiple systems environment.\nExcellent knowledge of industry standard open communications protocols\nBasic network fault finding capability.\nKnowledge of system monitoring toolsets\nProficient with Microsoft Office applications (DB, SQL, scripting)\nA strong commitment to safety and a safe working environment.\nStrong knowledge of IP network technologies (switch, router, firewall) and solutions, and proficient with IP addressing and allocation\nWilling to develop extensive product knowledge in formal training, and in “on the job” environments, working with the latest Honeywell technology.\nAbility to identify technical solutions to customers’ business needs.\nUnderstanding of Honeywell building technologies and application (BMS, Security, CCTV, Fire etc.)\n\n\nProven track record in a project engineering capacity involved in the design and delivery of technology-based projects.\n\n
