Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing primary departmental support for a wide range of Human Resources responsibilities including Associate relations, benefits, compensation, FMLA and other leaves of absence, 401k, training, performance management, onboarding/offboarding, policy implementation, and recruiting.
Responsibilities:
Works closely with all Associates to answer questions and concerns regarding HR and Company. Looks for opportunities to improve current practices. Works with leadership to ensure the effective use of disciplinary counseling and works to ensure consistency throughout the company. Responds to Associate and Leader questions related to vacation, attendance and compensation policies. Assists with human resources planning, policy formulation and organizational development. Works to maintain compliance with federal, state and local governmental regulations. Completes the orientation and induction process for new hires. Administer benefit programs. Assists with the design, planning and implementation of benefit programs. Assist in the benefit renewal process. Monitors and tracks Associate leaves (FMLA and personal) to ensure consistency and compliance with state and federal regulations. Ensures all work areas meet 5S standards. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. Maintains Human Resources Information System records and compiles reports from database. May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Quality / Environmental Roles and Responsibilities:
Follows all procedures and work instructions and makes recommendations to improve the process. Notifies Leader immediately upon detecting any non-conformances. Records all non-conformances to ensure corrective action and preventative measures are taken and assist in the problem solving process. Communicates and practices DMNC’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems. Takes an active role in achieving and maintaining IATF-16949 and ISO-14001.
Knowledge, Skills, and Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Human Resources 5-8 years of direct experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing setting. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant employment laws. Outstanding interpersonal skills necessary for creative problem solving. Proficient in Microsoft Windows software including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. PHR or SPHR Certification is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Works mainly in an office environment with frequent visits to the production floor. Must have the ability to use a computer and telephone. Located full time in Statesville, NC. 100% of work is on-site, Monday-Friday from 7:00a-3:00p.
