Advanced Lead Engineer – Additive Application Design Engineer
Job Description SummaryOur mission is to partner with customers to accelerate their journey to production additive manufacturing success. In this role, you would be a member of the Application Development Team focused on additive design consulting, helping customers find the right additive applications and product development of those applications. This entails delivering training, design and development of products, solutions and systems, co-creation with customer teams, physical prototyping and/or departmental operations/initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities

Work directly with customers in an external facing consulting role by aiding them in all phases of their additive journey. Activities include delivering training, part identification, designing parts for additive manufacturing, support generation, disruptive design, distortion modeling, etc. for metal additive manufacturing considering DMLM, EBM and/or Binder Jet modalities.Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirementsProvide technical leadership to personnel / cross functional teams supporting the assigned projectImplement plans with guidance to meet technical requirements of assigned components and systemsDevelop action plans with guidance to respond to issues / problemsLead or participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issuesRecommend, with guidance, the approach to meet the technical and program requirementsParticipate and present in technical and program reviewsAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresTravel globally up to 25%

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university6 plus years of engineering experience in aerospace, transportation, medical, power, renewable energy, oil & gas, or other technical industry

Experience with additive manufacturing technologies and design for additiveExternal customer consulting experienceStrong working knowledge of one or more CAD systems, e.g. NX, CREO, CATIAExperience with mechanical and thermal simulation tools, e.g. ANSYS, Hypermesh, CFDAbility to function in an early business/startup atmosphere in a multifunction, global teamNon-traditional thinkers and the ability to provide a non-traditional approach to mechanical designCapability to work in a broad range of work from conceptual to detailed designStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsStrong technical aptitude related to components and systems of increasing complexityAbility to influence others and lead small teamsLead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
