Location: Grand Rapids, MI or Clearwater, FL This position, which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, is based in Grand Rapids or Clearwater, FL and necessitates a presence in the office for 2-3 days each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates. **Job Description** Job Description: As a Lead Engineer – Mechanical Component, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing avionics products that meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will utilize your technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and lean mindset to drive key business objectives and exceed customer expectations. **Key Responsibilities:** + Perform mechanical design, interconnect evaluations, component selection, and tolerance stack-up analysis for avionics products. + Create detailed mechanical models, drawings, and bills of material. + Conduct thermal, stress, and vibration analyses to ensure product compliance with environmental and operational requirements, and provide technical reports. + Lead design and work-product reviews, ensuring adherence to quality standards. + Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. + Mentor junior engineers and lead multi-disciplinary design teams. + Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives and design architectural trade studies. + Provide technical support to the production factory for root cause investigations. + Identify and implement process improvements to enhance department efficiency. **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university. + **Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.** **Eligibility Requirement (s):** + **Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
