Job Description –Advance Mechanical Design Engineer

You will design products to meet customer needs, product quality, manufacturability, new product development, prototype builds, testing. You will develop the product designs necessary to drive product improvement and will be integral in securing present and future business by consistently meeting or exceeding Voice of Customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
DIRECTLY ACCOUNTABLE for:
Study of Product requirement as per applicable standards.
Providing inputs to different disciplines for various purposes.
Responsible for preparing & reviewing following documents either created by in-house engineering team or by a team from third party agencies:
- 3D CAD Models & 2D Production Drawings.
- Concept Generation, Design FMEA, Tolerance Stack up.
- Simulation Reports.
- Design Calculations.
Responsible for reviewing the work of others in the group for technical accuracy and compliance with established guidelines and procedures.
Responsible for resolving the field issue & providing RCA.
Support and follow corporate HS&E policies, in relation to Office & Field Safety practices and engineering design policies.
Additional Position Accountabilities include:
Identifies needs and opportunities for Work Process and Productivity improvements (in area of expertise) and provides necessary oversight through implementation.
Sets technical standards, policies, and procedures in area of expertise.
Accomplishes agreed to Expectations and Goals specific to area of expertise.
YOU MUST HAVE
· 10+ years of Relevant Mechanical Design experience for Industrial Automation products.
· Candidate shall have an excellent knowledge of Principles, Practices and Procedures related to Mechanical design of Automation/Instrumentation products.
· Hands on Experience in HazLoc Product design per various global standards i.e. IECEx, ATEX, FM, CSA
· Expertise in Design calculations
· Expertise in design of Industrial process automation products.
· Experience/ Knowledge of inter-disciplinary linkages & interdependencies.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Expertise in CAD Software i.e. CREO, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD.
· Good knowledge on mechanical product design and NPI life cycle.
· Hands on experience in Concept design and Parametric modelling & Detailing, big assemblies, and cable harness etc.
· Knowledge and experience of, Plastics, machining, Sheetmetal parts and surface finishing.
· Tolerance stack and GD&T.
· DFMEA, DFM and Six sigma tools
· Hands-on experience on Windchill and Teamcenter.
· Hands-on in PDM/PLM usage and ECO/ECR activities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Master’s Degree may be an advantage.
Able to communicate effectively in English.

Highly motivated, Independent and Team player.
Negotiation skills and business acumen are an advantage.
