The Honeywell Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Product Line designs and manufactures specialized Coil Wound Heat Exchanger equipment. The equipment is designed by our corporate engineering organization and fabricated at our manufacturing facility in Port Manatee, FL. Our customers typically use this equipment to liquefy extracted natural gas, massively improving its transportability as an energy source to end users around the world.
The Automation Engineer is a team specialist role responsible for support of automated machinery associated with the production of Liquified Natural Gas Coil Wound Heat Exchangers (LNG CWHEs). The successful candidate will manage specification, design, procurement, installation, use, troubleshooting, and updating of automated systems (software and hardware) associated with the proprietary manufacturing technology in the facility, as well as other automated manufacturing equipment used by the LNG Production and Maintenance teams.
The Automation Engineer will have the following skills / responsibilities / accountabilities:
Development of complex PLC programs for the automation manufacturing equipment and other automated production equipment, or the troubleshooting of other production equipment (plasma cutting table, seam milling machine, heavy transport vehicle).Revision control of in-house developed PLC programs to facilitate ease of operations and maintenance troubleshooting. Design and development of electrical layout drawings and schematics.Design of low voltage power distribution systems (480v and below)Development of HMI displays for production equipment.Specification of Allen Bradley PLC (or similar) hardware including CPU’s, I/O modules, and Bus Interfaces. Program using function blocks, sequential function charts, structured text, and ladder logic.Troubleshooting and diagnostics of automated production equipment (automation of our coil wound heat exchanger manufacturing equipment) and other plant automated production equipment. Commissioning / startup / operational readiness of new equipment by loop checking, debugging, and confirming safety system functions.Apply knowledge of field bus protocols including HART, Modbus, and EtherNet/IPSupport new equipment project development activities including scope and cost estimates. Manage control system project execution and electrical control cabinet fabrication for new equipment. Ensure equipment is compliant with Honeywell and facility safety requirements, National Electrical Code, and Honeywell Engineering standards. Ensure system compliance with IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 through specification and configuration of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).Manage and keep evergreen knowledge architecture, document library, and all drawings/procedures/specifications associated with Port Manatee automated manufacturing equipment.Develop work instructions and training information for new automated process equipment introduced to the Production area. This includes working with Production and Safety departments to ensure operational and safety requirements are met prior to use. Support the Plant Maintenance team when automation / controls problems occur.Lead or participate in Continuous Improvement activities directed at cost reductions and/or cycle time reductions.BENEFITS OF WORKING FOR HONEYWELL

OR Associate's degree with 15 + years of automation/plc experience.Proficiency and experience with Allen Bradley platforms with a proven record of PLC process control system software development. 3+ Years’ experience CAD programs for electrical schematics.Programming skills including VBA, VB, VB.net, SQLKnowledge of low voltage power distribution systems (VFD’s, motor starters, etc.)
