Advanced Practice Clinician, Cardiothoracic Surgery
#Cardiac Surgery Critical Care Full Time Responsible for collaborating with physicians, advance practice providers (APPs), and other medical staff to evaluate, plan, and implement patient assessments and follow-ups. Directly involved in patient care through medical consultation, research, treatments, and education. Specializes in Cardiac Surgery Critical Care and recommends appropriate course of treatment through medical diagnosis while working closely with the physicians. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Supervises treatments and obtains medical records, evaluates patients, order tests or scans, diagnoses diseases, and prescribes medications and prescriptions. 2. Provides post operative care of the cardiac surgery patient in the Cardiac PACU and Cardiovascular ICU. 3. Specializes in cardiac surgery and provides subject matter expertise and treatment. 4. Performs procedures such as central and arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, suturing. 5. Partners with surgeons and intensivists in developing treatment plans and advises physicians on changes in a patient's condition. 6. Monitors and ensures accuracy of patient medical records. 7. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required: + Masters in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program + National certification from NCCPA, AACN, AANP, or ANCC + New Jersey PA, or APN/RN license + CDS/DEA license or eligible + 2 years current critical care Advanced Provider experience
