The HealthPartners Hospital Medicine Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Fellowship engages APC learners in extensive training within Primary Care, as well as required rotations in specialty areas deemed essential for proficiency. Responsibilities include performing histories and physicals, formulating an assessment and plan, and providing necessary treatments and procedures. Primary Care APC Fellows spend a significant portion of their training at a HealthPartners or Park Nicollet primary care site, as well as rotations at specialty clinics, Methodist Hospital, and Regions Hospital.
Building on ACGME Family Medicine Core Competencies, didactic sessions include lectures, skills training and simulation to compliment the comprehensive clinical experiences. This helps APC fellows develop clinical competence and confidence, critical thinking skills and interprofessional collaboration in order to integrate into practice at an accelerated rate compared to on-the-job training.
