Job Summary:
The Critical Care APP is an independent health care provider who coordinates emergent inpatient care through collaboration with the attending Physician. The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the objectives policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee.
Job Requirements (APN/NP):
Acute care certification preferredFCCS certification preferred1-2 years acute care hospital experience preferred Current APN or PA certificationCurrent NJ state license, CDS and DEACurrent BLS/ACLS requiredScheduling Requirements:
Full TimeDay Shift40 hoursEssential Functions:
Demonstrates an ability to organize and achieve quality performance in new routineDemonstrates effectiveness in coordinating aspects of patient care Performs appropriate assessments and treatment for patientsPerforms appropriate interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic testingPerforms basic bedside procedures such as central line removal, feeding tube insertion, rhino rocket insertion, etc.Appropriately directs patient care during a rapid response as well as code stroke, code MI, and code sepsisDemonstrates strong organizational skills, communicates effectively and demonstrates time managementPerforms duties independently and coordinates care with the bedside nurse, attending physician, and other consulting providers.
