Job Description Role Overview: Join our world-class team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) on the Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery team! With over 900 APPs at MSK, you’ll collaborate with a talented surgical team of APPs, fellows, residents, and attendings to provide exceptional patient care. This role includes first and second assisting in the operating room, performing tasks such as suturing, hemostasis, and drain placement, as well as opportunities for float clinic or inpatient coverage as needed. Additional responsibilities include post-operative checks, rounding, chart reviews, and patient education to ensure seamless care throughout the healthcare continuum. Key Qualifications: + Graduate from an accredited PA program + NCCPA certification + Active NYS license or be qualified for state licensure + A minimum of 2-3+ years of APP experience within an OR environment ispreferred + BLS certification OR + Current New York State (NYS) RN and NP licenses/registrations + Master’s degree in nursing, prescriptive privileges (or eligibility) + A minimum of 2-3+ years of APP experience within an OR environment ispreferred + Related National NP certification + RNFA + BLS certification Core Skills: + Consistently makes timely, well-informed decisions that drive organizational progress. + Effectively processes and responds to complex, often conflicting information in dynamic environments. + Works seamlessly with diverse teams, including APPs, residents, fellows, attendings, nurses, and surgical staff, fostering teamwork and communication. + Prioritizes tasks efficiently, aligning work with organizational goals and ensuring timely completion of commitments. + Builds strong relationships by engaging others around a shared vision and aligning them with key priorities. + Demonstrates flexibility in adjusting strategies and approaches to meet the evolving demands of changing circumstances. + Capable of independently managing an OR room, making comprehensive patient care plans, and collaborating with attending physicians to ensure coordinated care.
