This position is charged with implementation and management of employer-based health and wellbeing services conducted under the collaboration and direction of Employee Health Services physician leadership.. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will deliver direct patient care to employees for on-site emergencies, work-related injuries and illnesses, episodic personal care, medical health surveillance examinations, preventive examinations and chronic disease management. This role will also have the opportunity to engage in and steer our upcoming primary care service offerings. Additional responsibilities may be added as deemed necessary to meet the needs of the business.
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week) worked as part of a schedule that meets the needs of the business. This role includes occasional telephonic on-call support for evening and weekend medical operations.
Ways you’ll contribute: Protect the health and well-being of the company’s employees through the provision of healthcare as an advanced practice provider.Maintain a thorough understanding of Lilly’s policies and procedures. Liaison with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) professionals to ensure appropriate care for employees and management of workplace hazards.Work with internal and external resources to manage occupational and personal injuries and illnesses to resolve appropriately.Assist management as needed with quality assurance and improvement initiatives.Contribute to the professional development of other departmental staff.Assist and support Employee Health Services’ clinical administrative tasks as delegated.Ensure adequate staffing of the clinic such that employees’ medical needs are met.Key Objectives: Clinical Responsibilities:Employ best practices, assess, diagnose, treat and prescribe for a variety of ambulatory care complaints, episodic illnesses, including both occupational and personal healthcare needs. Engage in evidence-based primary care medicine services while collaborating with the internal primary care physician on longitudinal care and complex care patients.Prescribe appropriate medications and devices within scope of practice and within the collaborative agreement and prescribing protocols that are consistent with accepted clinical guidelines.Provide follow-up care for all injuries and/or illnesses. Support/Assist with annual preventive screenings and health surveillance examinations.Educate employees on health behaviors, self-care skills and other treatment options appropriate to their individual needs.Collaborate with healthcare professionals both within and outside the company for comprehensive care.Facilitate appropriate physician referrals considering the employee’s location and cultural background.Use local resources effectively to ensure compliance with medical regulations and provide optimal care and referrals.Emergency and Safety Support:Respond to on-site emergencies and provide first aid for job-related injuries and non-work-related illnesses.Support first aid and safety programs, as well as the local Emergency Response Team.Raise awareness of occupational hazards and potential loss areas to local Health and Safety.Develop awareness of company referral resources for crisis management and other scenarios.Provide research on communicable diseases and referrals to expert resources, including local and state health departments, infectious disease specialists, and other resources.Report infectious diseases to appropriate local and state agencies as required by law.Health Promotion and Compliance:Support and Promote wellbeing programs, offering resources for employees for wellness and lifestyle interventions and/or management of chronic diseases.Coordinate with corporate health services to provide immunizations and flu shots.Maintain medical records in compliance with privacy and regulatory standards.Provide on-call support for continuous clinical coverage.Ensure the clinic is staffed to meet the medical needs of the site and, its employees and EHS staff.Serve as site liaison to HSE and OSHA record keepers and the EHS work-related Nurse Case Manager.Basic Qualifications:Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant from an accredited university or program with at least 5 years of applicable experience in relevant settingCertification from a national certification agency as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Practice Nurse, or Physician Assistant.Current State of Indiana license as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges.Willingness to obtain medical licensure in additional states to support US-based employees, including but not limited to Indiana.CPR for Health Care Provider certification.Advanced Cardiac Life Support prior to assignment start dateQualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
