Advanced Practice Provider (Float) Ob/Gyn - Pasadena - SOM

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of a graduate level (or higher) nurse practitioner program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).  No experience required

 

Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certifications:

Required:

Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON) Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in a nurse practitioner clinical area of specialization by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON)

Current RNs who have not yet completed their nurse practitioner program or recent graduates who have not yet obtained their ANCC/AANP certification or APRN nurse practitioner license are eligible to apply for this position. However, official employment is contingent upon the successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program, ANCC/AANP certification and APRN nurse practitioner licensure.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of nursing experience in the Pediatric unit. Master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) with board certification.  Preferred, but not required.

Job Summary:

Provides advanced practice health care services as well as documentation of services, collaborates with colleagues and clinical director, supervises assigned support staff, participates in quality assurance activities, and demonstrates a commitment to quality health care.

 

Job Duties:

Provide primary health care to the patient and family throughout the course of care. Use the processes of assessment, diagnosis, management, and evaluation to provide care that integrates the psychosocial and physical needs of the patient and family. Establish a therapeutic relationship with the client and family. Plan, develop, coordinate, and provide appropriate health education and counseling in response to patient needs. Contribute to the advancement of their profession, seek to ensure high-quality care within the RMCHP, and demonstrate leadership skills in achieving improved outcomes for all clients and their families. Responsible for the health care provided and will utilize age-specific developmental principles when providing care. 

  

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience.
