Our 12-month Advanced Practice Provider Hematology/Oncology Fellowship is designed for:

Newly graduated NPs or PAs who wish to gain additional clinical experience in oncology Experienced APPs who wish to transition to specialty care.

APP fellows will receive clinical and didactic education to gain hands-on experience while building a knowledge base across the continuum of oncology care, from early diagnosis through survivorship or end-of-life care. Clinical rotations encompass a variety of oncology subspecialties including hematologic malignancies, autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplant, CAR-T and other cellular therapies, and solid tumor malignancies, incorporating surgical, radiation and medical oncology, as well as supportive therapeutics such as palliative care and infectious disease.  Our comprehensive approach to post-graduate education provides opportunity for professional development for the next generation of APP leaders. 

 

The duties of this position include:

Composed of comprehensive didactic & clinical curricularotations include solid tumor, hematologic malignancies and transplant (~36 weeks) with pre- and post-rotation knowledge assessments, student and preceptor evaluations. Twice monthly in-depth case presentationsOnce monthly case conference presentationInter-professional education (walking in their shoes)Reflective journalingParticipation in an APP-specific journal clubDedicated mentorship throughout the programSuccessful completion of required clinical hours with documented gains in clinical assessment skills, knowledge base, and professional stewardshipCompletion of a quality/performance improvement initiativeSubmission of a professional abstract or manuscript for presentation or publicationPresentation of a M&M discussion at the division level Grand Rounds Required Qualifications

We accept two applicants for the program each year. By the start of the program, successful applicants must:

Be U.S. citizens or legally able to work in the U.SHave completed an accredited PA or NP master’s programACLS/BLS certification 

Nurse Practitioner:

Valid State of Oregon Registered Nurse licenseCurrent Nurse Practitioner license for the state of OregonState of Oregon Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive PrivilegesRecommend membership in a professional nursing organization

Physician Assistant:

Valid State of Oregon Physician Assistant licenseCurrent Physician Assistant license for the State of OregonState of Oregon Licensure under CHH MD, Recommend membership in a professional organization.  Additional Details
