Overview JOB SPECIFICS A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) is a highly trained and specialized provider who provides compassionate expert level care to aid the recovery of patients who are victims of sexual assault. The SANE promotes and restores patient health and wellness while collaborating with providers and the multidisciplinary team across the care continuum. This position cares for sexual assault patients primarily in the Emergency Department as needed by assessing and supporting physical symptoms while providing psychological support to patients, friends, and families. This position will be in addition to all other employment obligations on the home department and will comply with state law and OSF HealthCare policy when offering medical-forensic care to patients. Perform patient assessment and assign diagnosis based on recorded assessment data and current scientific and current research. Establish plan of care and implement interventions in accordance with care paths, protocols, standards of care and current research. Provide education and counseling to patients, families and groups. Clinic hours are Monday – Friday 7:30-6 pm. Excellent work/life balance with weekends. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.
