POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will provide health services to Marathon Petroleum employees and contractors located in the Catlettsburg, KY region. The incumbent will possess the ability to professionally interact and collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders to prevent and manage work related injuries and illnesses and to promote total worker wellbeing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotes Health Services strategic direction in support of total worker health and wellbeing to increase the resilience and reliability of the workforce. Solves complex medical problems associated with work fitness for duty and safe return to work.Manages, mentors, and develops clinic staff. Fosters a culture of trust and confidence with employees, internal stakeholders, and contractors by demonstrating effective leadership and engagement while delivering appropriate, service oriented, and professional medical services. Maintains standards for high quality clinical care, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for employee and contracted medical services. Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated exams.Provides and medically supervises the management of work-related injuries and the medical care provided by clinical staff in response to medical emergencies. Collaborates and coordinates emergency medical care with clinic team, the MPC local Emergency Response Team and municipal rescue personnel. Provides medical response to incidents including afterhours call and staffing support for projects, outages, and TAR. Provides systematic management of worker medical leave with a focus on achieving a safe and timely return to workforce.Oversees clinic case management activities. Assists in the management of workers compensation cases. Undertakes services such as drug and alcohol testing, medical screening, health-related studies, travel medicine consultations, and immunizations.Provides all clinical activities under the direction of the Corporate Medical Director (CMD) and the local collaborating physician, in accordance with applicable laws governing state licensure and national certification. Participates in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines to be used during the provision of clinical services.Remains current and informed on regulatory issues affecting the delivery of occupational and other health services, hazard-specific regulations regarding worker evaluation and treatment of exposures and OSHA recordable safety issues as they pertain to the clinical treatment of injury cases.Participates in planning for and managing the health-related aspects of disasters that can affect the safety and welfare of the employees and community.Acts as liaison for the company to the community at large when health concerns are at issue.Maintains a system of confidential medical records consistent with sound medical ethics while maintaining compliance with government regulations such as OSHA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Enforces procedures for preserving confidentiality, while allowing access to those with a bona fide need to know.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree in nursing or master’s or bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies.Active and unencumbered state NP or PA license in all states in which they have clinical responsibilities.At least 5 years’ experience in occupational health; or 7 years’ experience in an urgent care or emergency room setting. Ability to evaluate worker injuries independently, within scope of practice, with an ability to identify and elevate complex medical cases.Ability to become certified and completes OSHA / DOT mandated exams independently.Manages/supports local Case Management requiring little support from supervision.Must hold a valid driver's license with excellent driving record.Must be able to pass drug test and background check.SKILLS:
Certifications in CPR/AED, NIOSH/CAOHC, Drug Collections and Breath Alcohol Testing, Spirometry, and ACLS preferred.Experience with respirator fit testing preferred.Individual must be highly motivated and focused on professionalism.Possess strong interpersonal, communication, technical, and computer skills.Excellent customer service expertise.As an energy industry leader, our career opportunities fuel personal and professional growth.
