Job Description:
This position is requested to identify a candidate for Manager of the Axiom/KBR team primarily in support of the Axiom EVA program. The selected candidate will report directly to the Deputy Program Manager and will manage production support technicians to ensure production is running smoothly. The candidate will also be responsible for the following areas of the Program:
Technician Management and LeadershipInterfacing with engineers and component owners to build, assemble or procure AxEMU subsystems or other non-standard projects including breathing air systems, ground support equipment or public affairs/marketing equipmentIntegrated Management support across all other functional areas (i.e., logistics, quality, and production, etc.The position’s responsibilities include leading approximately 10+ employees from several production and machine processes within the organization, coordinating resource prioritization and allocation within the department, and ensuring that the team’s responsibilities are completed within budget and schedule. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for handling management administrative tasks such as performance rating, merit planning, career development, technical and leadership training, disciplinary actions, etc., and other duties as assigned.
Candidate must be highly organized, work well in pressured situations with diplomacy, possess the ability to manage multiple projects, in a multi- contract environment. The candidate must have experience with leading complex systems projects, integrating with other organizations such as Logistics, Production, Safety, Quality & Mission Assurance, Maintenance and Operations, and interacting and meeting the needs of the customer. The candidate should be familiar with a standard integrated engineering processes and their application to development, manufacturing, modification, sustainment, and process control. The selected individual will perform other related duties and assignments as required. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Oversees the planning and delivery of products based on complex technical requirements, engineering specifications/standards, aggressive schedules, and critical milestones. Applies the appropriate technical experience, judgement, objectivity, technical and quality standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the systems life cycle. Ensures system standards are met.
Required skills
