As an Advanced Systems Safety Engineer (Avionics), you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our avionics systems. You will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced safety engineering strategies and processes to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks in our avionics products. Your expertise in safety analysis, risk assessment, and system safety engineering will contribute to the development of cutting-edge avionics systems that meet the highest safety standards.

You will report directly to our Project, Safety, and Reliability engineering director and you'll work out of our Phoenix Deer Valley location. In this role, you will analyze, document, and review the safety aspects of our avionics systems, ensuring that they meet the stringent requirements of the aviation industry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, system engineers, and certification authorities to ensure our products meet all safety requirements. Primary focus will be with product safety activities for displays and graphics hardware, but assignments might also include system safety activities.

Although candidates with aerospace product safety backgrounds will be considered as priority, the position is also open to those that may not yet have formal training and/or experience in this domain but have strong aerospace electrical hardware and/or systems engineering backgrounds, and a robust aspiration to be a part of a safety and reliability team that performs the safety analysis and other activities that are critical to the safety and certification of our cutting edge products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
\n\nDevelop and implement safety engineering processes and methodologies (FMEA, FTA, FHA, SSA).\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into the design and development process.\nEnsure compliance with aviation safety regulations and standards, supporting conversations with internal and external certification experts/authorities.\nProvide technical guidance and expertise on safety engineering matters.\nMaintain safety and reliability tools and processes.\nProvide input to project planning and status.\n\n\n

YOU MUST HAVE
\n\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in Aerospace safety, hardware, systems, software, certification or other similar engineering discipline.\n\n\n
