This role focuses on developing design tools and software for large gas turbines. **How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)** + Developdesign tools and software for subject areas such as aerodynamics, heattransfer, mechanical integrity, and lifing. + Collaboratewith CAD designers to build stable, parametric geometries for components. + Writescripts to automate toolchains and facilitate multi-disciplinary optimization. + Developdamage-tolerant design tools and software to support the gas turbine serviceteam. + Capturerequirements, develop, document, deploy, and maintain software and designtools. + Preparetraining documents and presentations to instruct engineers on using designtools, ensuring project success in time, cost, and quality. **What You Bring (requirements)** + Bachelor'sdegree or advanced degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering. + 3+years of experience (or a PhD) in the gas or aero turbine industry. + Strongbackground in developing design tools, engineering software, and scripts withproficiency in programming languages like Python, C++, Fortran, bash, and more. + Extensiveexperience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments, databases, datastructures, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS. + Knowledgeof advanced technologies, including machine learning, artificial intelligence,surrogate models, digital twins, and LLMs. + Proficiencyin parametric CAD software (e.g., NX), front-end tools like React, JavaScript,HTML, CSS, and version control systems like GitLab. + Stronganalytical, statistical, and mathematical skills coupled with in-depthknowledge of gas turbine components, design, and engineering methods. + Highlymotivated and self-directed with excellent interpersonal and communicationskills for effective collaboration in technical environments. + Mustbe eligible to work on control technology as required by U.S. export controlregulations. + Applicantsmust be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need forcurrent or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
