About Lihir
Our Lihir Operation, located on the beautiful island of Niolam, approximately 800km north of Papua New Guinea's capital, Port Moresby, is one of the world’s largest gold mines. Set within a geothermically active, extinct volcanic crater, Lihir operates an open-pit mine producing refractory ore, which undergoes pressure oxidation and conventional leaching to recover gold. Our workforce includes both residential and commute rosters, creating a diverse and dynamic team. Lihir offers a range of recreational facilities, including a gym, sports club, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, and a 9-hole golf course. The Advisor Business Integrity & Compliance PNG will assist in implementing business integrity and compliance programs, ensuring adherence to Newmont's Code of Conduct, policies, and various standards, including anti-corruption, gifts and entertainment, conflicts of interest, U.S. export compliance, and other relevant regional and site-specific requirements.
Essential Duties
The Advisor Business Integrity & Compliance PNG will spend 75% of their time executing the program activities and 25% focused on investigations and will be responsible for:
Conduct integrity and compliance investigations and audits at sites, including building reports and sharing findings with appropriate stakeholders Implement annual training (online, high risk and onboarding) of site personnel, contractors, vendors, community members and government officials on integrity and compliance issues Execute Third Party Due Diligence and supplier pre-qualification programs and monitor related clearance and training activities Advice on COI clearance issues Provide support in building and sharing of metrics /trends with the appropriate stakeholders Provide advice and support the activities of integrity advocates Represent the Lead BI&C, as the BI&C delegate on internal committees (CIC, contracts, etc.) and in external compliance activitiesTraining & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferredU.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the U.K. Bribery Act Papua New Guinea compliance rules and regulations. Compliance programs and auditing Investigation processes and procedures Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy industry experience Fluency in English and Tok Pisin is preferred MS office skills and compliance systems knowledge and experience – Third Party Due Diligence platforms, Helpline and Case Management tools, COI disclosure platforms, etc. Working Conditions
This role is based in Lihir, and FIFO or Monday to Friday roster arrangements are to be considered for the right candidate. Travel to Port Moresby and other locations will be required. So, join us at Lihir and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our people and the success of our business!
