What Data Management and Governance contributes to Cardinal Health
The Data & Analytics Function oversees the analytics lifecycle to identify, analyze and present relevant insights that drive business decisions and anticipate opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage. This function manages analytic data platforms, the access, design and implementation of reporting/business intelligence solutions, and the application of advanced quantitative modeling.
Data Management and Governance provides direction of data assets and is responsible for data strategy, quality, standards, and service levels. Data management acquires, validates, standardizes, enriches, protects and publishes structured, third party and unstructured data for use by the business. Governance defines and implements policies, standards and metrics that ensure the effective and efficient use of trusted data and statistical models to support regulatory and business goals.
This is not a technical IT role. This is a business enablement role.
Responsibilities
The Advisor, Data Governance will be part of the Data office, Data Management and Governance organization as Data Governance Specialist responsible for advancing and maturing Data Governance capabilities across the enterprise. This role will act as a Data Steward and change agent working directly with Data Owners, Business Stakeholders, Data Leads and SMEs to:
Execute data governance use cases leveraging the Data Governance PlaybookWork with Data Owners and other stakeholders to establish and progress towards defined targets for data management maturity and data quality indexCapture and maintain data ownership, prioritization, and criticality of data elementsCapture and maintain metadataIdentify opportunities to improve data quality through data remediation, process controls, and technology controlsPresent at Working Groups and other Leadership meetings for alignment and approvalCreate and govern current state and future state data flows, with identification of dependencies and integration pointsSupport quality & regulatory teams to drive data complianceQualifications
4-8 years of industry experienceBachelor’s or equivalent experience in related fieldPrior experience data management, data analytics, business process analysisWhat is expected of you and others at this level
Strong project management skills to plan, organize and execute work independentlyStrong communication skills to collaborate across various teams and process areas including both business and technical teamsStrong influential and facilitation skills to collaborate across various teams and process areasExperience with understanding data structures and data elementsExperience in driving data governance, data quality and data remediationExperience in leading data modeling, data lineage and data usage decisionsAbility to understand the business, high-level technical solutions and associated data creation and consumptionCandidates who are back-to-work, people with disabilities, without a college degree, and Veterans are encouraged to apply.
