The opportunityThe Advisor, Human Resources plays a hands-on role in delivering local HR support to employees and managers across the corporate office. You will act as a trusted advisor in all areas of human resources, with a focus on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, organizational development, and process improvement.
The role
Develop strong business relationships and work closely with managers to fully understand their needs, challenges and business realities in order to develop a customized talent attraction and assessment strategySupport managers in handling employee relations, conflict resolution, and coaching conversations.Participate in the implementation of expected organizational changes to promote individual and team performanceAdvise, support and coach managers and employees in the interpretation and application of policies, programs, and various labor and other applicable lawsEnsure the processing and follow-up of activities related to the life cycle of employees at the Montreal head officeResponsible for the planning and coordination of various Human Resources-related events and activities at Head Office to increase employee engagementPlan and conduct a rigorous talent acquisition process to deliver exceptional candidate experienceParticipate in onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle process optimization.Assist the Director, HR, in the implementation and improvement of any other HR programs for head office.
In partnership with the Global Organizational Development team:
Support, plan and implement the key Talent Management initiatives for the Head Office, such as:
Performance management cycle processesSuccession planning processLeadership development programs - facilitate local learning programs (in-person, virtual)Employee Engagement initiatives - support the engagement survey initiative and support business local action plans.
The requirements
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, or related fieldMinimum 5 -7 years in a generalist position, preferably in a corporate or professional services environmentCRHA designation is a strong assetStrong knowledge of employment legislation in Québec, coaching managers and managing sensitive filesDemonstrated experience in employee relations and HR policy applicationExcellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build trusting relationships with employees and managersAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities with a high degree of professionalism and discretion, in virtual and hybrid environmentsStrong entrepreneurial spirit, high sense of accountability and proactivenessAbility to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environmentExcellent organization, attention to detail and time management skillsThis position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English
