Job Description
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Brand Medical Strategies and Functional Plan Responsible for all medical strategy relevant activity conduct and documentation preparation regard to allocated brand/indications/therapeutic area which including but not limited to medical imperative definition, medical gap identification, medical functional plan preparation/presentation to Area/Global and National Advisory Board organization. Responsible as representatives of allocated brand/indications/therapeutic area for regular connection within INTERCONTINENTAL Organization. Responsible as representative within Affiliate and participating to relevant cross-functional collaborative tasks (Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, CEX, Business Unites, Market Access et al). Be a strategic collaborator in, and contributor to, the affiliate Brand Teams, and ensure medical alignment where possible. Act as a lead or key contributor on the urgent or important task forces such as crisis management, risk management, label changes and updates, patients’ complaint handling, market access initiatives, et al. Evidence Generation and Medical Study Lead Develop local clinical study/Evidence Generation plans. Responsible for identifying and prioritizing the evidence gaps and Conduct of local research activities (including but not limited to Post Marketing Observational/Interventional Study, Post Approval Commitment Study, Collaborative Study and Investigator Initiated Study) in scientific, efficient and compliant manner, with due regard to applicable policies, processes, procedures and national regulations, and in line with Affiliate/Area/Global identified priorities of evidence solutions, for relevant products/therapeutic areas. Serve as Local medical study lead for assigned studies through the whole process, including but not limited to study concept formulation, study protocol design/approval, study bio statistical plan/report generation, study implementation (collaborative with CSM or Evidence Solution) and publication. Medical Content and Scientific Communication Establish medical and scientific knowledge base, ensure in line with established medical strategy and prioritized gap identification, generate medical materials in appropriate forms for field medical education and internal/external communication in an accurate, balanced, timely and compliant way. Medical Governance and Compliance Review Act as TA representative to review and approval promotional /non promotional materials, regulatory materials and public affairs materials as needed. Establish medical and scientific knowledge management and training for AbbVie products and products in development, and ensure that medical knowledge is of high quality and communicated in an accurate, balanced, timely and compliant way EE engagements and External collaboration and Impact Provide medical support for and help develop and maintain professional and credible relationships with external experts and academic organizations. Identify appropriately qualified external candidates who would wish to engage in collaborative efforts – such as potential Collaborative Study and Investigator Initiated Study – with AbbVie; ensure a high level of scientific integrity in these collaborative efforts.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Medical Degree; Strong background in clinical practice. Suitably qualified individuals from a scientific background and relevant experience will also be considered in exceptional circumstances. Previous medical affairs pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry experience is preferred . REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES / ATTRIBUTES: He/she must have a reputation for leading with high integrity, strong work ethics and compliant behavior Must understand and be able to plan, manage and execute budgets effectively. Collaborative, team oriented approach, as well as with key external stakeholders. Experience being an active contributor to cross-functional teams and/or working in matrix organizations will be essential. He/she will possess strong communication and presentation skills. Works broadly across functions to facilitate and support the affiliate’s medical and clinical activities as necessary.
