The Advisor, State Government Relations reports to the Director, State Government Relations and will have a key role in implementing Cardinal Health’s policy and advocacy strategy with respect to State Legislatures and Executive Agencies in support of the company’s business objectives. **Responsibilities** + Execute a comprehensive, proactive government relations strategy to advance Cardinal Health’s mission and goals with elected officials and applicable government agencies. + Work with Government Relations, Regulatory, Legal, and other business units to monitor and evaluate proposed legislation and regulations, while identifying public policy issues, assessing the impact on Cardinal Health and our stakeholders, and developing recommendations and/or recommended solutions. + Monitor and analyze state budget proposals and pertinent legislation. + Serve as a liaison between Cardinal Health and state agencies, legislators, and staff for designated business areas and lobby on assigned topics. + Prepare letters, testimony, and memos in collaboration with other Cardinal Health representatives, trade associations and stakeholders to achieve acceptable language. + Plan, organize, and attend meetings with legislators, regulators, key stakeholders, and others in conjunction with the Director, State Government Relations. + Participate in internal planning and policy discussions to ensure broad understanding of the strategic drivers of Cardinal Health’s engagement on policy issues. + Prepare written materials for meetings and follow-up action items. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university preferred. + Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience including significant experience in policy analysis and the legislative/regulatory process preferred. + State legislature or executive experience preferred. + Mix of government and private sector experience preferred. + Experienced with healthcare political, legislative and regulatory issues, as well as applicable governmental agencies preferred. + Fluency with political and legislative processes. + Demonstrated writing, editing, and presentation skills. + Demonstrated success working in a team environment. **_What is expected of the Advisor role and others at this level_** + Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects + Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals + Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models + Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope + Projects may have significant and long-term impact + Provides solutions which may set precedent + Independently determines method for completion of new projects + Receives guidance on overall project objectives + Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues **Anticipated salary range:** $79,300 - $113,800 **Bonus eligible:** No **Benefits:** Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being. + Medical, dental and vision coverage + Paid time off plan + Health savings account (HSA) + 401k savings plan + Access to wages before pay day with myFlexPay + Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) + Short- and long-term disability coverage + Work-Life resources + Paid parental leave + Healthy lifestyle programs **Application window anticipated to close:** 4/6/2025 *if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible.
