HOURS: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday
STATUS:Non-exempt, full-time, 37.5 hrs/wk
Hourly Rate:$19.00 to $21.00
LOCATION:Satellite Site in Greece and/or Webster
SUMMARY:
The Aging Services Advisor uses human services skills to help older adults and caregivers access community-based supports and services. In partnership with Monroe County Office for the Aging and Veterans Services Agency, this role provides assistance applying for benefits and connecting with resources to enhance quality of life. Lifespan is a trusted, mission-driven nonprofit agency with more than 50 years of experience helping aging adults and caregivers. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide unbiased information and guidance to older adults and caregivers.
· Assess needs and help with referrals, completing applications, locating resources, etc.
· Share information, in a professional, non-judgmental, and culturally appropriate manner, about programs and services that support an individual’s independence, choice, and self-determination.
· Complete database documentation in an accurate, timely fashion.
· Maintain a professional knowledge of local services. Participate in agency learning opportunities, cultural competency, and corporate compliance training.
· Other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Degree in Human Services or related field of study.
Experience: One year in human services or case management.Knowledge of public benefits and community-based long-term supports and services preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work in-office with a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Zoom.
Strong organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in multi-cultural situations.
Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional and respectful manner.
Valid NYS driver’s license.
