What You’ve Accomplished

You have completed a BS in Chemical Engineering, or an advanced degree in similar fields. You also have at least 15 years of experience with piping and pumping engineering. Experience with US Navy Nuclear Power Program and SolidWorks are beneficial. You must be able to obtain unescorted commercial nuclear and Department of Energy facility site access. This means you have a clear criminal history, are able to pass controlled substance drug/alcohol testing, and are a US citizen. You may be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applications, such as Word, Excel, and OneNote, and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

You may have also acquired the following skills:

Familiar with chemical processes in nuclear power plants.  Design, test, and qualify new and/or improve chemical process components.  Assessing options for process improvements, expansions, or reconfiguration by developing and testing process simulation models. Design plant and equipment configuration so they can be readily adapted to suit the plant components and configurations taking environmental and economic aspects into account.

 

 

Your Opportunity

This part-time role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As an Advisory Engineer in Lynchburg, VA (remote work will also be considered), you will be part of the proven team in the IBNC-A Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. IB is responsible for all types of services and maintenance activities for commercial nuclear operating plants. The IB NDE Solutions Business Group (IBN-A) manages specialty NDE inspections, steam generator services, chemistry & chemical application services, and Balance of Plant (BOP) repair services and sales activity for primarily the US nuclear market. Framatome is seeking an experienced candidate who can gain unescorted authorization access to US nuclear plants to lead a team to design, apply, and process the waste for a Pressurized Water Reactor Steam Generator chemical cleaning. The Engineers will develop and lead a team in system design, procurement, and assembly. 

 

Working hours are typically 8 AM to 5 PM, with the potential to work overtime to meet project deadlines.  Contracted project execution will involve shift work (8, 10 or 12-hour), including day/night shifts and weekends.  Work will occur in an office environment, laboratories, and nuclear power plants.  Development work may progress from design in the office to test in the lab to implement and perform at a plant site, so travel would be required at certain stages of a project.  In some environments, you will need to wear protective clothing or use equipment like safety glasses, steel toe/composite safety shoes, ear protectors, gloves and a hard hat.

 

This position requires up to 75% travel. Your total rewards package

The range of base salary for the position is between $62.30 - $84.80 per hour, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
