This position oversees one or more client engagements within Advisory and/or provides functional leadership for all of Advisory. Develops strategies that position the Advisory team for success while representing HNTB with clients at the highest levels.
What You'll Do:
Leads significant client engagements, providing strategic advice to clients while overseeing the work of other Advisory team members and ensures 4for4 delivery across the engagement. Addresses and solves complex, high risk issues that arise on major projects and programs while successfully managing client relationships.Develops project win plans and is involved in senior-level discovery on mega and super mega pursuits. Originates and delivers thought leadership and other market positioning content for HNTBManages a practice group within Advisory, recruits and organizes team members, evaluates performance and capacity of senior team members and allocates work assignments while managing contractual and administrative functions for specific client engagements. Alternatively, or in addition, provides senior functional leadership across Advisory in strategic planning, budgeting and other operational areas.Supports business planning and marketing efforts of the line organization and represents Advisory across the firm while maintaining relationships with Office Leaders, Division Presidents, Regional Presidents and Client Service Leaders.Approves key recommendations provided to clients, including strategy, commercial elements, delivery model selection, stakeholder communication, budgets, schedules and timelines. Assumes project executive role on large-scale projects as needed.Leads key planning activities for Advisory, thinks strategically and sees the broader picture in the context of corporate objectives.Participates and helps involve other team members in industry events, such as key conferences and market influencing initiatives, and is active in industry organizations, including in influential roles (e.g. officer roles, boards of directors).Performs other duties as assigned.What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 16 years of relevant experience.Master's degree in relevant field and 15 years of relevant experience.PhD/JD in relevant field and 14 years of relevant experience.What You'll Bring:
Broad knowledge of the infrastructure industry, key players, policies and existing programs/precedent transactionsStrong professional connections across the infra industry, well known and respected by industry peers, active in industry organizationsExecutive presence, with excellent communications, writing, quantitative skillsProfessional demeanor, able to independently interface with senior client leadersAccomplished in marketing and BD, able to develop and present compelling value proposition to clientsDeep understanding of consulting business and key value drivers for HNTB, and applies that knowledge to achieve 4for4 delivery in all client assignmentsWhat We Prefer:
Well-established, trusted relationships with state DOT leaders in the Mid-Atlantic and SoutheastDirect experience as a public owner in structuring, procuring and delivering major transportation projects using the P3 modelDirect experience addressing stakeholder challenges to highway tolling and other opposition to new P3 projectsMajority of work experience in a directly relevant role, with significant experience managing consulting teams and projectsExtensive knowledge of state DOTs and their leadership teams across the country, with special emphasis on states in the southeastern US. Deep familiarity with DOT processes and policies and with how DOTs interact with state legislators.Ability to understand policy issues and goals of individual DOT leaders and develop strategies targeted at helping them achieve their goals. Demonstrated success leading the development and implementation of large transportation projects delivered using innovative delivery methods (P3, CMGC, etc.).Additional Information
