Crew Leadership & Supervision:
Lead and supervise a team of aerial technicians, ensuring they are performing tasks efficiently and safely. Assign daily tasks to crew members and ensure that work is completed to company and industry standards. Ensure the crew maintains a high level of productivity and safety throughout all aerial installation, maintenance, and repair activities. Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to less experienced team members. Resolve any crew-related issues, conflicts, or challenges in a timely and professional manner.Aerial Construction & Maintenance:
Oversee the installation and maintenance of overhead telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic cables, coaxial cables, and other related equipment. Manage the construction, repair, and upgrading of utility poles, towers, and support structures required for aerial telecom installations. Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with engineering specifications, design drawings, and safety protocols. Direct and coordinate the rigging, hoisting, and placement of equipment and materials for aerial installations. Troubleshoot and repair any damage to aerial telecommunications systems, such as downed lines, damaged poles, or faulty hardware.Safety & Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to all safety standards and regulations, including OSHA guidelines, during aerial operations. Conduct regular safety meetings and job site inspections to ensure compliance with company safety policies. Identify and address potential safety hazards on the job site, taking immediate corrective actions as needed. Ensure that all team members are equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and are trained in its proper use. Maintain a safe and organized job site, ensuring that tools, equipment, and materials are stored properly.Project Management & Reporting:
Coordinate with project managers and clients to ensure that all work is completed on time and within budget. Monitor project progress, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met. Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered during the project. Submit daily reports on crew activities, project status, and any significant challenges to the project manager. Ensure that the crew follows all quality control and reporting procedures established by the company.Equipment Management & Maintenance:
Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all aerial construction equipment, including bucket trucks, cranes, and tools. Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety. Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or maintenance needs to the appropriate department.Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED required; additional training or certifications in aerial telecommunications construction or related fields is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in telecommunications aerial construction, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or foreman role. Experience with the installation and maintenance of aerial telecommunications systems, including fiber optic cables and utility poles. Experience operating aerial lift trucks and other related equipment. Skills: Strong knowledge of aerial construction techniques, including rigging, hoisting, and cable installation. Familiarity with safety protocols and OSHA regulations related to aerial work. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong communication skills for interacting with crew members, clients, and project managers. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and technical documents. Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in varying terrains. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor in a variety of positions. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary. Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.Why Join BCOMM Constructors?
