Aerodynamics and Performance Intern

We have an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate intern to join our External Aerodynamics and Flight Performance team in Poway, California! This position is available for undergraduate students to participate in supervised practical training in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering. Under the guidance of a lead engineer/mentor, candidates will support aerodynamic analyses and performance predictions for aircraft and payload integration projects. Tasks may include analyzing wind tunnel data, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) data, and flight test data, running MATLAB based aircraft performance tools, and generating documentation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: + Requires strong professional interest in aircraft aerodynamics and performance as a career. + Requires strong MATLAB, Microsoft Office, and technical communications skills. + Requires completion of at least one course in aircraft performance. + Participates in the day to day activities of assigned functional area assisting in the completion of routine and non-routine tasks. + Assists in applying knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve problems. + Assists in developing electronic and hard copy reports, records, diagrams and charts. + Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. + Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
