The Aerospace CNC Machinist performs set-up and machining on aluminum, stainless steel and titanium parts on all 3 axis and up mills, lathes, and live tooling. This position reports to the Machine Shop Production Supervisor and is located onsite in New Port Richey, FL. The work schedule is Monday thru Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM and overtime is routine. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Machine parts for defense and commercial aerospace vehicles on lathes, mills, and live tooling to blueprint and quality specifications, including tolerances up to 0.002 mm. + Perform first piece and in-process inspection using precision measuring tools (gauges and automated CMMs) and blueprints. Read and understand all types of drawings required to machine parts such as castings, forgings, and detailed engineering sketches. Complete all necessary paperwork as required including scorecards, hazard recognitions, routers and data, Red Tags, etc. + Conduct training and cross-training of other Machinists. The essential requirements of the job include + Three (3) years Aerospace CNC machining experience and high school diploma or equivalent. + Three (3) years of experience reading G-Code and other forms of conversational programming. + Work overtime as required, including weekends. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: + Frequent bending, lifting and standing for extended periods of time; frequent lifting up to 20 lbs. from floor to bench; occasional lifting to 35 lbs. Good eye and hand dexterity. Physical/Environment Requirements: + Frequent lifting up to 35 pounds. Lift up to 50 pounds with assistance. Lifting frequency: Daily. Able to load parts using hand tools. Stand for long time periods (for a minimum of 9 hours or more); frequently twist and bend. + Pass basic eye test. Good eye and hand dexterity. + Be able to work with solvents, oils, and other chemicals. It would be a plus if you also: + Successfully completed a CNC Machinist program from a technical school.
