The Siemens Aerospace & Defense team is looking for a dynamic and energetic professional to manage accounts and spearhead strategic business development efforts within the Aerospace & Defense industry across the US, with a special focus on the East region. As part of the global Siemens Aerospace & Defense Vertical Organization, the Aerospace & Defense Account and Business Development Manager will implement the global vertical strategy in the US and coordinate national and international activities with the related vertical ecosystem and accounts. The successful candidate will be able to pair knowledge of the Aerospace & Defense Market with an advanced automation and digitalization centric portfolio of solutions, to drive sales, to establish customer preference, and to win specifications for Siemens in Aerospace & Defense named accounts in the USA.
The role reports to the Head of Vertical Management for Aerospace & Defense in the USA.
We are looking for An Aerospace & Defense Account and Business Development Manager. This position is remote and can be based anywhere within Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia.
You’ll make an impact by:
Ensure comprehensive account coverage for Key Accounts in the East region, such as GE Aerospace, GKN Aerospace and BAE Systems, while maintaining strong relationships with key customer stakeholders. Identify key vertical players in the US and qualify them for all business units within Siemens, focusing on Aerospace & Defense topics. Understand the Aerospace & Defense Market and use advanced automation and digitalization solutions across all Siemens business units to drive sales and win customer specification for Siemens in the USA be part of the global Aerospace & Defense community and serve as the central point of contact for the topics regarding your accounts. Support the regional vertical management and vertical sales team dedicated to the Aerospace & Defense Industry (Aerostructures, Space, Engines, eVTOL, etc.). Coordinate strategic business development and sales activities related to the Aerospace & Defense Industries across all relevant sales channels and teams (Vertical Market, Vertical Sales, OEM Sales, Digital Industries Software Sales, Customer Service & Smart Infrastructure). Align and incorporate strategies of the global Siemens Aerospace & Defense Vertical, Digital Industries business units, and segments for the US. Develop business opportunities and projects across all sales channels. Drive marketing activities, engage in industry associations, and become a strategic industry leader for our catapult centers like MxD to develop domain expertise and represent Siemens as a thought leader in the industry. Furthermore, support the expansion and further development of the ecosystem in the USA, create market analyses, and develop go-to-market strategies. Manage a reporting system in the CRM system (SieSales), covering direct and indirect business for the Aerospace & Defense accounts.You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years experience with successful track record in Account Management2+ years experience in Business Development representing a similar breadth of industrial portfolio. Experience and broad knowledge of the production and manufacturing environments and key applications in Aerospace & Defense OEM’s and Tier suppliers. Strong executive presence, communication skills to engage with senior leaders and a collaborative mindset, especially in a global context. Proven success in operating with multiple channels to market, including direct sales, distributors, and system integrators. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, working with direct and matrixed resources to ensure customer satisfaction and profitable growth. Comprehensive understanding of Siemens' diverse offerings across all Digital Industries (DI) and Smart infrastructure (SI) Business Units. Entrepreneurial mindset, willing to take measured risks and act with a sense of urgency without sacrificing excellence. Ability to travel up to 40%. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in the Aerospace & Defense Industry, preferably in an engineering, consulting, or account management environment.Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, computer engineering Thorough understanding of industry-related processes, applications, business drivers, trends, and issues, including end-user community, OEMs, and System integrator serving the industry. Experience in marketing or engineering of Automation products or Digital Transformation solutions into the aerospace & defense industry. Fundamental understanding of the Siemens Digital Industry product, solutions, and service portfolio is preferred. Proven ability to develop opportunity pursuit strategies and lead the pursuit of complex opportunities across multiple sales organizations and companies (end users, engineering firms, systems integrators, etc.).
