Aerospace Engineer – Simulation and ModelingDesign the Future of Flight with Us!

Compensation: $41.20 - $66.95/hour, Depending on Experience

PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a skilled Aerospace Engineer – Simulation and Modeling in San Luis Obispo, CA. This hands-on role will allow you to design and integrate flight dynamics models, develop custom simulation tools, and contribute to the development of autonomous flight systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and integrate flight dynamics models for aircraft and autonomous systems.

Develop custom simulation tools for aircraft systems and flight control.

Support the development of guidance, navigation, and control systems.

Assist with autonomous flight vehicle testing.

Analyze flight data, debug flight controller issues, and create detailed test reports.

Conduct engineering trade studies to support design decisions.

Communicate findings to supervisors, project managers, and clients through reports and presentations.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).

3+ years of relevant aerospace experience.

Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and 6DoF flight simulators.

Familiarity with UNIX/Linux and Windows OS.

Experience with Git and Monte Carlo simulation.

Strong understanding of aircraft stability, control, and flight controllers.

Strong communication skills (written and oral).

Desirable:

Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and/or 5+ years of experience.

Proficiency in Python, C++, or other languages.

Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, or RC aircraft.

Familiarity with eVTOL and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) concepts.

Experience with system identification, frequency domain analysis, and OpenVSP/VSPAERO.

Pay Details: $41.20 to $66.95 per hour
