Orion is looking for experienced aerospace engineers to join a skilled, highly respected, and long-standing team supporting Space Environment Modeling and Simulation Analysis. The successful candidate should have domain knowledge of diverse space and ground platforms and sensor phenomenology. They will be part of a team developing, tailoring, maintaining, and using a robust capability of data assimilative models and simulators in support of predictive analysis of complex systems in the earth’s ionosphere, thermosphere, and magnetosphere. Responsibilities may include: Perform space environment evaluations of solar activity to include course of action concepts Develop, maintain, and deliver integrated software tools that can be used to evaluate the application of space environment effects and tradecraft Perform M&S to support development and operational application of software, algorithms, and technologies Perform Orbital analyses and trade studies using environmental intelligence Perform Satellite Maneuver Determination and Analysis Perform Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations and Analysis *This position will be located in either Colorado Springs, CO or Albuquerque, New Mexico. Qualifications Required: BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5 Must POSSESS and be able to maintain a Secret clearance Experience with space environment evaluations and conjunction assessment evaluations Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Experience using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative technical solutions or approaches to problems Intelligence community domain knowledge, and demonstrated understanding of user needs and operational environments Experience with Continuous Development, Continuous Integration (CI/CD) tools and software applications including GitLab, Jenkins, Fortify, SonarQube, and Kubernetes Experience with Agile software development practices and the Atlassian tool suit including Jira and Confluence Experience developing M&S engineering code to solve hard problems and create processes for repeatable results. Desired: Active TS Clearance Experience in Radar and Electro-optical Engineering Experience in Atmospheric Modeling Experience in Data Mining, Analysis, Performance Analysis, Predictive Analytics and Reporting using various methods and tools Experience in developing software applications and data architectures supporting systems engineering/development efforts Familiarity with formal Software Testing Degree in Engineering (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, software), Imaging Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field Equal Pay Act This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
