Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is looking to hire a driven Aerospace Structural Repair Engineer to provide onsite managerial and technical support for the Army Futures Command and the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Division (AMED) in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Army’s AMED allows its engineers and analysts to gain experience in various programs, including Research and development, Fielding and implementation, and Sustainment Engineering programs supporting the DoD Aerospace Industry. In addition, HII engineers and analysts set the standard of professional and ethical conduct and participate in diverse professional development opportunities.

Essential Job Responsibilities Proficient in creating structural repair and modification documentation, including detailed repair instructions and substantiation analysis in support of rotary or unmanned aircraft systems. Review damage data and engineering drawings to ensure an efficient load path and adequate structural strength and stiffness for repairs and modifications. Proficient in aviation structural repair principles, methodology, procedures, and integration of the same into engineering projects using systems, materials, mechanical, or aerospace engineering practices. Support government engineers with expert advice, analysis, research, and technical guidance on aviation structural repair for rotary or unmanned aircraft systems. All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science or greater in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Materials Engineering fields. 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 0 years of experience with a Master’s. Acceptable relevant experience is not limited to the aerospace industry.  Candidates interested in gaining aerospace industry experience are encouraged to apply. Experienced in applying structural repair principles and analysis to develop and evaluate engineering dispositions. Experienced in evaluating technical documentation for adherence to policies, plans, procedures, and management requirements. Experienced at working independently and coordinating project work with minimal supervision.  Experienced at reading and interpreting engineering drawings, repair manuals, and technical reports. Experienced in writing detailed technical substantiation analyses, reports, and briefings. Possess strong listening, written, and oral communication skills. Competence in MS Office and related software/programs. Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Preferred Requirements 5 years relevant engineering experience with a Bachelor's or greater in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Materials Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. 5 years of hands-on system engineering design and development experience Department of Defense Aviation Depot Maintenance repair or overhaul operations experience. Active DoD Secret Security Clearance Physical Requirements

Office and industrial environment. Lifting and moving materials should not exceed the guidelines set for a one-person lift.
