We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Aerospace Technician located at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL. This individual will support research and testing in the Electromagnetics Laboratory (EML) at the Kennedy Space Center. JOB DETAILS LOCATION: Kennedy Space Center, FL JOB STATUS: Full Time TRAVEL: No REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS High school diploma with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants. Will be required work both inside and outside the Electromagnetics Laboratory (EML) and at remote sites on KSC. Position will require intra-facility travel to different areas at KSC. Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility. Climbing ladders and platforms is necessary. All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Ability to use computers and printers used for Work instructions, viewing drawings & specifications, producing reports, time keeping and schedules. Experience using a variety of equipment used in Fabrication and testing. Including common hand tools, measurement instruments, torque wrenches, etc. Attendance Full-time regular work hours between Monday-Friday. Position may require overtime including weekend work depending on task. Must be dependable and punctual. Shift work may be required. RESPONSIBILITIES Must be familiar with basic electrical test instruments, digital multimeter(s), power supplies, soldering irons, and similar items. Must be able to work alone or in a small team environment. Technician classifications must be Electrical and Test with Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Fluids a plus. While working in a team environment assist in the application of engineering principles in creating, testing, and modifying equipment or systems and or other duties as assigned. Needs to be able to read and understand schematics, drawings, work instructions and perform maintenance and operation of EML equipment and systems. Having surface mount soldering experience is a plus and having a willingness learn from experienced staff technicians is a must. Having an amateur radio, general radio, or other radio license is also a plus.
