The Aerospike Database Reliability Engineer will:

Be responsible for administration and maintenance of Aerospike NoSQL databasePerform database upgrades, OS patching, performance tuning and support activitiesCreate scripts to automate database maintenance and administration tasks.Understand upcoming database features and provide guidance to the application teamsBenchmarking new features and their impact to the application availability and performanceParticipate in database capacity planning activities for new application features.Review application database design and provide critical feedbackIdentify opportunities to build innovative tools and solve unique operations problems on a large enterprise and mission critical applicationsAerospike in the cloud setup in Kubernetes cluster What you have

Required Qualifications

4-6  years of experience with administration and support of Enterprise NoSQL databases like Aerospike, mongo.4-6  years of experience in writing automation scripts, building application dashboards for proactive monitoring, setting up Alerts for early determination of the issuesWorking experience with Schwab processes and systemsIn depth knowledge of database concepts, replication strategies and high availability architecturesExperience with database backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, performance tuning activities
Familiarity with Linux system administration, troubleshooting, and tuningDevelopment experience in one or more or programming languages such as .Net, Java, Powershell, Python, and BashWorking knowledge of logging aggregation tools such as Splunk, promethus, grafana or similar toolsPrevious experience in GitHub and harnessPrevious experience in using SALT or Ansible for automation of operational database tasks

Preferred Qualifications

Financial services industry experienceExperience with cloud providers like GCP, AWSAgile methodologiesStrong customer orientation with an affinity to proactively own, communicate, and follow-through projects and issuesExtreme sense of ownership to resolve problems in a distributed environmentGritty resolve to dig deeper into technical issues in a complex eco-systemA self-starter with the ability and confidence to independently resolve issues and bring results back to the team

 

 

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
