Eaton’s Industrial Sector is seeking an Aftermarket Director, Business Development within the Vehicle Group North America (VGNA) division. The role will be based in Southfield, Michigan, and relocation assistance will be provided. Travel up to 50% will be required, including global travel.
Reporting directly to the Director of Aftermarket Business Development & New Markets, this strategic role is essential for driving new business development, managing programs, and executing product and service expansions within our commercial aftermarket sector. The position supports our 5-year strategic profit plan by enhancing market share through buy-sell agreements, private labels, distribution partnerships, and exploring new markets, technologies, and services. Key responsibilities include developing and recommending strategies to increase market share, creating comprehensive business cases and plans, conducting competitor assessments and market analyses, formulating market entry and pricing strategies, performing financial modeling, and developing sales and marketing strategies. Additionally, the role ensures the successful execution of growth projects by coordinating with VGNA and corporate cross-functional teams for project alignment and timely launches. As a manager of managers, this role also involves leading a team of five direct reports.
• Development 5-year new business / product / service / category roadmap and strategic plan
• Participation in annual Profit Plan and Strat Plan development
• Business case development and approval including revenue, cost, and launch timing consistent with short- and long-term strategic growth roadmap.
• Develop and execute successful commercialization of approved new products and/or markets. Commercialization includes training, revenue achievement, key customer engagements, marketing and collateral material development, pricing, and inventory planning / forecasting.
• Ability to proactively address changing conditions by identifying issues and developing recommendations to mitigate risks and achieve targets.
• Lead competitive assessments to develop strategic product roadmaps, including evaluation of portfolio gaps with recommendations for closure and the ability to anticipate potential future competitive product offerings.
• Work with the cross functional team to ensure necessary completion of activities on-time, efficient execution, and implementation, in order to launch growth initiatives and support sales and goals achievement.
• Develop and manage employee travel and entertainment budgets.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum ten years of experience in marketing, sales, and/or engineering/operations leadership.
• Minimum five (5) years of manager of people experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company Sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualification:
• Global product management experience in a buy to sell environment.
• Product strategy experience as it specifically relates to new business development within the commercial vehicle aftermarket industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, and/or marketing from an accredited institution.
• MBA or advanced degree from an accredited institution.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $136500.03 - $200200.04 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
