We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our newly formed Aftermarket Value Stream. Ideally you have technical experience in the aftermarket side of aerospace – Maintenance Repair Organisations, Airlines or OEM Customer Services – and you have the ability to leverage that knowledge to unlock the potential within our organisation. You will provide exceptional leadership and foster a people-first approach to unlock the full potential of your team.  Empathy, candour and energy are critical behaviours to demonstrate.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

People leadership and team management of ~25 individuals with a mixed skill set and with responsibilities across a varied product lineSupporting the overall strategy of the wider Aftermarket team in Wolverhampton with a dotted line to the Aftermarket Site Director, driving the team to deliver the right priorities, giving focus on where they can add value and removing barriers to their progression.Ensure that the day to day tasks of the team are managed efficiently, with the right level of governance and processes in place. Put the right metrics in place to measure our performance and hold people to account.Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with our key customers, and resolving conflicts and escalations where neededEnsure that engineering integrity is achieved, engineering procedures are complied with and that product strategies are in place to provide discriminating engineering support service.Working closely with the Wolverhampton Aftermarket Value Stream Leads to ensure on time delivery, meeting our financial goals and providing world class Customer ServiceDriving Continuous Improvement initiatives to completionIdentify required resource and put in place resolutions where gaps exist.Communication at all levels up to Senior Leadership on the achievements of the AFM Engineering team in Wolverhampton – be their sponsor and supporter

Can demonstrate great leadership skills with experience of line management – collaborative, articulate, courageous, able to instil trust and with a strong focus on people and their development.Proven Engineering expertise or knowledge in the Aftermarket industryA determined, committed individual with a track record of accountability and the ability to take calculated risks.Key behaviours; empathy, candour, collaboration, transparency, integrity

Desirable skills:  

An appreciation of the ‘bigger picture’ – how engineering contributes to the wider AS goals and profitability, operating with an eye on the long term strategy of the AFM business.Highly motivated and with a growth mindset; able to “make things happen” through direct leadership and the utilisation of others.Broad intellectual capability with a good level of technical understanding, ability to effectively interface with a wide range of professionally qualified external / internal business disciplines.Able to operate and communicate successfully at Senior Management level.Structured and organised; good planning, reporting and communication skillsPreferably knowledge of AFM with experience in the product line, and preferably with some sort of signatory privileges
