Agency Relations Lead
Job Description

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center- Cadillac Tower three times per week, at minimum.

Job Summary:

The Agency Relations Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the agency while fostering strong relationships with Brand teams and other stakeholders. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional support and guidance to the teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.Monitor performance metrics and optimize processes to improve efficiency.Guide and provide agency solutions for the brand teams, business units and their marketing needs.Monitor and adjust scopes quarterly to meet the brand business needs and agency resource management.Partner with GM Purchasing to manage agency, partnership, and creative production contracts.Partner with budget management to align scopes with agency fees while optimizing marketing budget framework.Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with brand teams and agencies, understanding their needs and objectives.Serve as the primary point of contact for brand teams and agencies, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.Conduct regular check-ins and gather feedback to enhance team satisfaction.Integrate with GM Purchasing to develop contracts and agency compensation models that drive effective solutions and produce resource efficiencies.Hold on-going dialogue with agency partners to understand the pulse of their business.Work closely with the Brand Campaign Leads and the Advertising Managers.Production Management Oversee the end-to-end production process managing the tier 2 bid process and operations.Learn and utilize the tools GM uses to help us benchmark our business to find efficiencies (Prodigy, Ariba, Production estimates, XR reports).Become an expert on the tools and processes to manage consistency of production across General Motors.Team Collaboration:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on agency projects and initiatives.Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.Assist in training and onboarding new staff.Reporting and Analysis:Prepare reports on operational performance and marketing excellence metrics.Analyze data to identify efficiencies and opportunities for improvement.Present findings and recommendations to senior management for improvement and savings.Strategic Planning:Contribute to the development of strategic plans to enhance agency growth and brand efficiency.Schedule and manage Quarterly Business Reviews with brands and agencies.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS 

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field  5+ years of marketing/ad agency experience required; diverse marketing industry experience preferred. Broad marketing skillset and ability to effectively collaborate across functions. Effective communication and interpersonal skills; with ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally. Strong business affairs knowledge and organizational skills.Capability to devise processes that enhance organizational efficiency.Self-starter who takes initiative, values continuous learning, and collaborates effectively with others.
