WHAT TO EXPECT 

 

This is an opportunity to join and support the Plant launch Organisation in the exciting AGILE in Launch Landscape, be an empowered Technical Lead and work cross collaboratively within the OTA Squad to help deliver the plant readiness in launch. 

 

Working within Launch Quality Operating System guidelines and working towards delivering new model launch products and processes utilising Agile methodology; this role will support the Plant Launch function in the planning, control and delivery of all new model launch activities, from Programme Start right through to Job 1 +90 days. This is a key role that has cross functional interfaces, which will play a pivotal part in ensuring all key launch metrics and deliverables for the plant are met. You’ll be a lead member of the Squad participating in all aspects of Agile such as Daily Stand Ups, Sprint Planning, Big Room Planning and Showcase events.

 

The individual will be required to participate in raising and manging stories within JIRA, facilitating meetings, presenting out at all levels, data analysis, creating documents with formulas/bar charts/graphs/pivot tables/macros, IPS standard problem solving and supporting the manufacturing team with H&S and Risk Assessments. You will be expected to highlight and manage all issues that may affect manufacturing up until final resolution.

 

The candidate will be expected to support build phases by travelling across different sites during prototype and other build phases and also support working a 3-shift rotation which may include early starts, late starts and unsociable hours. There will be cases where the candidate will be expected to show flexibility around shifts and overtime.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

•    Act as a key liaison with other departments (VCAT’s, CSI, Integration), to raise, track and report issues through robust issue management utilising ECCAR’s, AIM’s, SIM’s & Agile frameworks. Support actions arising from build issues, whilst also implementing and utilising problem-solving techniques such as PSP, PPS & Level Zero through to resolution.
•    Understand the electrical architecture/system on the vehicle/model year you are aligned to, gained through hands on experience and the ability to interpret and read wiring diagrams whilst being open to expanding your knowledge with the evolving software advancements & developments through the build phases.
•    Pioneer the introduction of new processes and SSoW through the build phases, identifying ergonomic, risk assessments, Health & Safety concerns including solutions and help drive the implementation.
•    You will prepare and present detailed technical analyses and data evidenced documentation to stakeholders, obtained from systems such as, but not bound to; MTTR, QBAY & FLAG’s ensuring transparency and informed decision-making throughout each build phases. 
•    Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job and be flexible to work in different build environments and travel to other JLR sites when required to meet launch & business requirements.

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED 

 

•    IMI Level 3 Diploma in Auto Electrical or NVQ equivalent with an understanding of electrification of JLR products and the advancements within the automotive industry.
•    Experienced in reading and interpretate wiring diagrams, whilst holding extensive knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture, electrical components. With a strong background in diagnostics, troubleshooting and testing procedures.
•    A transparent and dependable, effective communicator, with forward thinking vision for innovation, experienced in planning, co-ordinating and controlling your own workflow, holding the ability to convey complex ideas to all levels of the organisation. 
•    Competent using Microsoft Office programs (Excel & PowerPoint) with the ability to produce plans, presentations, graphs, and process documents.
•    Strong analytical and proven problem-solving skills & root cause analysis are crucial as is a methodical, logical approach to work. With an understanding of Agile methodology & frameworks preferably completed courses available through SuccessFactors.
