Overview What you can expect: The role is responsible to lead the Agro Quality Assurance and food safety agenda and manage the compliance to applicable PepsiCo Agricultural standards in procurement, handling, transportation and storage of Agriculture raw materials. The role is also responsible to manage the agro product quality and coordinate effectively with all stakeholders (Agro field. Agro commercial, Agro seeds, Production, Agro farmers and Agro 3rd party storages) to align and execute action plan for process improvement. Responsible for periodic testing of stock in storages and prioritize stock consumption according to results. Responsibilities Your day-to-day with us: Agro Quality: Planning, coordination and monitoring of Agro QA operations with prime focus on quality of Agro related commodities, food safety and compliance to PepsiCo Agricultural standards related to Agro processes. Partner with Agro Regional Managers, Supply and Planning Manager and Agro Development Manager to develop capability in terms of better forecast of situation in the field during different stages of crop to harvest and align action plan accordingly. Lead the potato crop quality monitoring through YSI testing and advise through trend analysis of potato crop from tuber initiation to crop readiness in coordination of Agro field team and help the decision making of potato consumption at field level Manage the Agro quality program during season though onboarding and training of Agro Interns for field, mobile lab development, boarding arrangement of field team, track and run testing plan in accordance with harvest plan and timely decision making on quality of Agro commodities (Potato – chip stock and seed, Corn) Inspect, test quality of chip stock and Seed stock (50,000+ MT) in field by covering 4 regions with around 2000+ farmers and 850+ hectares. Responsible for decision making on selection of stock for fresh use, short term and long term storages. Partner with Agro Regional Managers and Agro Business Development Manager and lead to establish strategies for best practices and SFI agenda through comprehensive data analysis of agro quality program to support crop quality improvement agenda and manage quality and productivity improvement projects through 6-Sigma approach. Manage the storage standards for potato (chip sock and seed stock) and corn and ensure compliance through comprehensive audits, and share reports on critical parameters on regular basis with action plan Drive agro SQA program through training of field staff, farmers and farm managers on SQA best practices and conduct field audits against PepsiCo Agro SQA standards. Ensure compliance to agro commodity testing for critical attributes from SQA approved fields and update information in X-Pert database Lead quality assurance agenda in business expansion and continuity plans by ensuring strong coordination with Agro and R&D on developments of new varieties for potato and corn and evaluate their behavior/ response from crop to consumer chain through trial study. Responsible for Managing periodic potato and corn quality health audits in storages, trend analysis through YSI, comprehensive sampling and testing through in-house or third party laboratories to assess the quality performance of stored potatoes. Decision making for prioritized stock issuance from stores, keeping in view the stock condition and specific usage like new product launches , export and wavy production Lead Potato lab operations for Green Field Cikarang for managing resources and timely retesting of chip stock before feeding to line for smooth running of lines Lead quality assurance agenda in Agro footprint expansion agenda to develop new geographies through strategic planning and engaging farmers and farm managers and tracking potato performance to establish development milestones Drive product quality improvement and compliance to gold standard product to achieve 60:40 Frito-Lay challenge score for CQA Lead the Agro QA agenda with absolute compliance to Global Control Standards (GCS) and ensure to align the Agro QA activities and processes accordingly Capacity Building: Organize employee training on techniques and work processes to help employees perform their jobs safely and effectively. Train and assist production staff in adjusting and calibrating equipment to meet production operating requirements. Set goals and evaluate work achievements according to the PMP process for employees Recommend rewards and discipline for employees Communicate policies and related information to employees in the department promptly. Participate in periodic meetings between supervisors and team leaders to agree on implementation plans and update issues related to techniques, production plans and work performance results. Participate in troubleshooting equipment problems and managing human resources for employees (if employees cannot solve problems) Qualifications What do you need to have? Minimum of 5 years' experience in agro quality management, with a proven track record of leading QA operations for agricultural commodities like potatoes and corn, along with a strong understanding of food safety protocols, agro commodity testing, and compliance with agricultural standards (preferably within the FMCG industry) Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret YSI testing, trend analysis, and comprehensive sampling techniques to guide decision-making on crop quality from tuber initiation to harvest Proficiency in utilizing data-driven insights to optimize agro processes, support product quality improvement initiatives, and drive Six Sigma projects Experience partnering with regional managers, field teams, and R&D to implement quality improvement strategies, conduct field audits, and manage agro QA programs Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, including the onboarding and training of Agro Interns and field staff, ensuring compliance with PepsiCo’s SQA standards Skilled in driving agro expansion initiatives, engaging with new geographies, and implementing best practices for crop and storage management to support business growth and continuity Why PepsiCo Indonesia?
