Operations Strategy Manager

Orlando, FL (Hybrid)

Position Summary

Thales is looking for an Operations Strategy Manager is responsible for understanding and defining strategies that impact APRU (Autonomous Production Repair Unit) Operations.  By combining their experience in supply chain, capacity planning, supplier performance and Operational KPI’s they are able to provide responses to questions raised based on new business opportunities, retrofit activity and end of product life support as examples.

In this position, you are also responsible for APRU test capacity planning and leading efforts to mitigate any short-term capacity constraints. Working with the Bid team and Operation management teams, they define the Operational strategy for Bid Gate reviews.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Providing the operational inputs into each new BIDs to define how the Operations team will support the requirement defined in the bid opportunity.Perform the Operational Capacity Analysis Bench capacity analysis and recommend solutions, mitigations or alternative solutions; Contributes to the Sales and Operations Planning Product review as it pertains to impacts that affect Operational capacity or strategy.They provide inputs that identify and recommend, industrial scenario (Make, team, Buy) based on various constraints such as Technologies, offset requirements, purchasing solutions, partnering, industrial schema.Monitor, understand, analyze and communicate operational issues as it affects mid – long term capacity and strategy; Communicate with the Process Engineering team to provide updates on new activities that have been identified.Contributes to defining the best solution (product/system/service) addressing customer needs during the upstream opportunity phase, in conjunction with Account Managers, the sales teams and marketing.Manage request for Capital expenditure and ensure that annual budgets are adhered to.

Minimum Qualifications

10 years’ experience in Aerospace MRO or Production operations. Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or similar applicable field.  Or, a combination of Education and 15+ years’ experience in Aerospace.Technical knowledge in planning methodologies including KAN-BAN, LEAN and ROP.  Experience with SAP.  Knowledge and experience of operations and understanding of FAA Part 145 and Part 21 regulatory requirements.Good communication skills at all management levels.

Special Position Requirements

Schedule: Core Business Hours, 1st shift Monday-Friday.Travel: Very limited travel potentially to other Thales manufacturing sites within the USA and France.Regulatory Compliance Requirements: None.

What We Offer

The anticipated TTC range for this role is $74,016.00 - $137,904.00 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
