We seek a collaborative and results-oriented AGV/AMR Engineer to conduct comprehensive testing and validation of automated guided vehicle and autonomous mobile robot technologies. Responsibilities include benchmarking against Ford and industry standards, performing pre-implementation plant simulations, and collaborating with engineering teams to provide feedback for design improvements and optimized system performance.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline.Highly motivated self-starter with strong leadership, motivation and team building skills.Exceptional project management, multi-tasking and organizational skills.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team setting.Strong oral and written communication skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications and tools.Preferred Requirements
Working knowledge of IT Networks and Communication ArchitectureExperience in a high-volume Manufacturing environment with focus on production related Process Automation.Familiarity with program planning, implementation and launch deliverables and solid understanding of GPDS.Exposure interacting with Senior Leadership Team.Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.

Collaborate with key stakeholders (PD, GME, MP&L, R&A and Manufacturing Operations) to identify, define and prioritize manufacturing technology development initiatives Establish and communicate AGV/AMR roadmaps aligned to strategic Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME) Objectives and AGV/AMR Platform for external commercial use casesLead and contribute to all aspects of AGV/AMR technology Pilot and Production systems including Network Architecture, Navigation, Communications, IT systems interfaces and Functional SafetyLead internal Ford and external Supplier cross functional teams to develop and deliver new manufacturing technologies through ideation, concept generation to Application Ready (AR);Execute all manufacturing technology development projects in accordance to the Global Manufacturing Engineering Standard (GMES) - New Manufacturing Technology Development Procedure GMP02-704ME.Apply system engineering approach with disciplined Six Sigma methodology and a data driven mindset on all manufacturing technology development projects.Plan and schedule installation of prototype equipment, at Ford and non-Ford facilities, with Ford Land, UAW and Supplier Partners to enable Concept Ready (CR)/Application Ready (AR) testing prove-out.Manage all aspects of manufacturing technology development projects portfolio administration inclusive of;Budget forecasts, MEARS project submissions, Purchase Order placement, Invoice processing, MTD Financial Tracker Updates and MTD Manufacturing Innovation Projects Tracker Updates.Prepare clear and concise technical presentation packages for joint review in MTD/Core Engineering Team meetings, MTD SAR meetings and Manufacturing Executive reviews.Create core technology documentation and upload to information share site to facilitate knowledge transfer to Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME) personnel and support technology replication across global manufacturing sites. Participate actively in mentoring, coaching and learning cascade activities across the manufacturing engineering teams and serve as an advocate to foster a manufacturing innovation culture across the enterprise.
